We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team on the afternoon shift. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in respiratory care, with experience in various settings including PICU, inpatient, and outpatient environments. This role is critical for providing high-quality respiratory therapy to patients with diverse needs, ensuring their comfort and recovery.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine respiratory therapy needs.
- Administer medications and therapies as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor vital signs and adjust treatment plans based on patient responses.
- Provide care in critical care settings, including emergency medicine scenarios.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory health management and equipment use.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatments administered.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department.
Experience
- A degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program is required.
- Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) is preferred.
- Experience in PICU, pulmonology, critical care, or emergency medicine is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in performing patient assessments and administering respiratory medications.
- Familiarity with operating room protocols and procedures is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
