Job Summary
We are seeking several dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our healthcare team in the PACU department. The Registered Nurse utilizes all aspects of the Nursing Process in the perioperative setting with an emphasis in the recovery phase. The nurses care for all patients requiring recovery from different types of anesthesia while keeping patient satisfaction in mind. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities
Taking care of patients as they emerge from various forms and stages of anesthesia.
Monitor vital signs, pain score, circulation, and various other systems in accordance with CPAN standards.
Communicates effectively with other OR staff and other departments.
- Calls report to the floors as indicated. Actively participates in hand-off communication.
- Communicates with other staff and surgeons in a professional and respectful manner.
- Promotes communication between the OR and other areas of the hospital.
- Demonstrates the ability to handle conflict in a respectful and professional manner.
- Follows policy and procedure for identifying patients with 2 identifiers.
- Check to see that the pediatric patient and family member are properly banded.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Minimum of 2 years of perioperative experience preferred. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical-surgical nursing practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassionate approach to patient care with strong problem-solving skills.
