Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiology Technician to join our medical imaging team. The ideal candidate will perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-ray, mammography, DEXA scans, PET scans, CT scans, and sonography, to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques. Experience in emergency medicine and trauma centers is highly valued. The Radiology Technician will work closely with physicians and healthcare professionals to provide accurate imaging results in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate various diagnostic imaging equipment such as X-ray, CT, PET scan, mammography, DEXA scan, and sonography machines with precision and care.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort while maintaining patient safety protocols.
- Apply aseptic techniques during invasive procedures to prevent infection.
- Accurately interpret and evaluate images for quality and clarity to assist physicians in diagnosis.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed and patient information in accordance with hospital policies.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards including radiation safety guidelines and infection control practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in urgent care, emergency room, or other clinical settings to provide timely imaging support.
- Keep current with advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques through ongoing education.
Experience
- Proven experience in diagnostic radiology including X-ray, CT, MRI, or ultrasound modalities.
- Prior work in urgent care facilities or emergency room environments is preferred.
- Experience with nuclear medicine procedures such as PET scans is advantageous.
- Knowledge of mammography and DEXA scans is desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation processes.
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and radiation safety standards.
Certification or licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent) is required for employment.
